hippooflove
I would like to state that I have used prestashop for about 3 years and loved the principles that governed it. However since around the time 1.5 was ready for release, things seem to have changed. They are only interested in money. Most modules and themes are paid for. As in any other business if you sell something to a customer you have to provide follow up customer service. It now appears that as soon as you have paid for products its tough luck chum. As prices are getting higher and higher then I feel that Prestashop should be able to ensure that queries and problems are dealt with. They do not seem to have any control over the the site anymore. I for one are sadly considering looking for another system to run my webshop as due to many issues with upgrading, theme changing etc not working properly have not had my website open for customers for nearly 3 weeks now. This has cost me a lot of money and maybe been better off paying somebody to get it right than trying to get answers to questions from suppliers of modules. Sorry moan over A very frustrated prestashop customer, waiting for my host to reload and restore my website for the 8th time since Saturday due to one click upgrade clearing my website completely. El Patron
I find the general problem is that people upgrade for the wrong reasons but having said that if PrestaShop continues to goad people into upgrading by announcing new version, download now! in the back office home page. then the one-click upgrade should either work or if it fails restore itself. moaning is certainly warranted. El Patron
now having said that... not having a timely restore from back up process is on the shop owner.
hippooflove
Now I do agree with that El Patron. I do have a back up but for whatever reason I need the host to restore the whole thing for me. My knowledge is not good enough to understand what is causing it. My whinge is the fact that prestashop is becoming paid only and to commercial and seems to defeat what it was originally set up for. Barry
hippooflove
Just a follow up to my original post its now nearly 2 weeks since I sent my question to addons and the developer regarding the issue I had. I paid over £60 for a theme that I have now discarded. Prestashop need to ensure that us numpties get support, as promised, from the developer if they want to run a commercial enterprise. Nobody can be without their site for this length of time. I do not want the theme now but the fact that Prestashop send a message saying the developer will get back to you shortly, is the least we as consumers can expect. Come on Prestashop pull your finger out and support your customers better. On the odd occasion I needed to contact a seller of a module or theme in the past, you usually got an answer in a reasonable time. This has all stopped since amalgamation and the arrival of the 1.5 cashcow. Barry
