PrestaShop vs OsCommerce

Hello

 

I have been looking at PrestaShop and like what I see so far but is it so that the program itself is free while most of the modules, plug-ins, add-ons, themes and so you need to pay for ?

 

I already have a shop on OsCommerce and consider moving to PrestaShop.

Is importing from OsCommerce to PrestaShop something I can do by myself ?

 

I have installed a version of PrestaShop on another server and have installed a import module for OsCommerce but after installing I do now know were to find it ??  It only tells me that its installed but I want to try an import and how do I do that ?  The module is version 1.0 which was included in the PrestaShop installation.
