Can't login to admin panel

I logged in to my admin panel and tried to delete a category in my shop when a window popped up asking me to enter my email & password which I thought was a security measure. Nothing happened when I entered the address & password and I applied for a new password which I got via email. Logged in and when to alter another module and same thing happened and I had to wait 6 hours before I was entitled to another password however, this second password would not allow me access and I am effectively completely locked out of my admin!!!!

 

Any help (for a non techi) would be much appreciated as I have no clue what to do.

You do not say what ps version you use but:

 

If you have access to your database either through cpanel or ftp then please read the article below

Think its version 1.4 and I can't access any control panels or databases.

 

frankly, even if I could, I don't have a clue what to do and would probably make it worse!!

 

Hoping for a 'simple' quick fix just to get back into my dashboard to get a bit of work done.

Ok. not sure what you mean by email, I did not receive it anyway.

 

I think it would be better if you asked your question in the "General Discussion" forum, you will get more response and help there
