Help, customer can't login from front end

Recommended Posts

Hello

I set up a small site using version 1.5, but I have a strange bug. I created an customer account, but I can't log in from front end with chrome, I can log in using firefox or opera. Even clearing browsing data won't help. I have someone else created another account, and she can't using chrome to log in either.

Here's my site, could anyone tried and tell me if it works, and if you can enlighten me what to do ?

thank you

I am not having any issue with logging in using chrome. After creating account I logged off and then logged in without issue. I then cleared my browser cache and could still log in. So am unsure how to proceed with helping you without experiencing the same problem.

Hopefully other community members can test this for you as well.

my host is ipage.com, so my domain is acveby.ipage.com, and I bought a domain name which is fially.com and used url frame

I've never heard of a set up like that...is this required set up with ipage.com?

you may want to consider using non url frame...in other words how most shops are set up is that you have a 'url' with DNS pointing to their shop installation. Now I understand this may work but it's not typcial and you are having problems that are typically associated with 'lost' cookie because of domain change.

I just took another look at your shop...while all appears to be working, the url never changes, using this set up you certainly will not be able to use most payment gateways, paypal for example will not work with this method.

I don't know how bots and search engines will even index the site.

It's not required with ipage of course, and fiallyshop.com is pointed to the shop, so I don't really understand what to change to your suggestion.

my shop doesn't need paypal as we haven't have a working online paying method yet, it's cash on delivery and wirebank and a modified cash on delivery module that I'll use as payment method

for the url change, i'm contacting the domain name support about it and it's soon be a holiday so I guess a reply should wait for 4-5 days
