badrelmers
the solution is easy unzip the theme , you will find a folder click it you will find 2 folders and one file (themes, modules, config.xml) , this is the problem they should not be into a folder, they sould be in the begining solution select the three files (themes, modules, config.xml) or more if you have more files, right click , send to zip (or use any other compression software you use) reupload the final zip it will work now if God want

OneStopPipeShop.com
I am having the same issue after upgrading to Prestashop 1.6. I am using the greenstore template which I had previously used without any issue. I am using the import module which was what gave me the error. I have also tried the steps listed by "badrelmers" without any luck. Any help is definitely appreciated.

OneStopPipeShop.com
i just suppose that your theme was exported with old themeinstaller module if i were you i will try to import it with some old themeinstaller addon but im not sure at all that problem is related to this Thanks for the response, I deleted the themeinstaller module from prestashop (version 2.8) and uploaded the old version of theme installer (2.5). The error continues to show up though. I would really like to be able to use the newer version of prestashop but if I am unable to use a theme I will have to roll back to an older version. Any help is definitely appreciated. Edited June 9, 2014 by OneStopPipeShop.com (see edit history)

javibeltran@pimesoft
After struggling for a couple of hours this is what I've found out: Some themes are exported from some sites by zipping the files directly from the root folder instead of zipping de content files and dirs. In this case, the solution is the one shared by [email protected] In my case point 1 hasn't been enough. The problem in other templates is that de Config.xml file is included as config.xml (not C in capital lettres) and this is going to fail when uploading the ZIP in case sensitive Systems, like Linux. Renaming config.xml to Config.xml has worked for me.
