w3bsolutions
Hello, I tried upgrading my installation from 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.5.0 using the latest version of the auto-upgrade module but there is a point during the upgrade that I get this: error for copying /img/t/0.gif error when trying to upgrade /img/t/0.gif and then I get a message saying: "Do you want to revert to [last backup]", if I click Cancel or Ok it does not do anything, the upgrade just stops and there is no way of getting past that error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance

acmetcetera
I started the "1Click Update" before reading this. If I get errors, does the roll back work properly? Also, how long did it take you guys to finish update, and how long was roll back process. Mine looks like the update is taking forever.
zackv1
I have several problem that I know of so far after upgrading form 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.5. Links to product, order and account pages will not work with friendly url on. I try to regenerate images with friendly url on and off but I keep on getting this error: 319 errors Original image is missing or empty (/home/zackv1/public_html/img/p/5/6/56.jpg) Original image is missing or empty (/home/zackv1/public_html/img/p/6/8/68.jpg) Original image is missing or empty (/home/zackv1/public_html/img/p/6/9/69.jpg) Original image is missing or empty (/home/zackv1/public_html/img/p/7/0/70.jpg)
acmetcetera
@zackv1 Have you added a new template? I know in the case that I added a new template, it broke my links and I had to include globals to match. I wonder if this update breaks all of that? It would be nice if they debug/test updates before applying a link in the backend. It is only normal to want to update software, right? Hopefully they get this handled. sworld
Better Skip until the REAL Stable Version is released 1-Click upgrade was good when i jumped to 1.5.4. I think they should also remove the Old unwanted Files in the Next Version so that lot of files not accumulated version after version. PS is good - Stick with it but wait to move to Next Version Edited August 31, 2013 by sworld (see edit history)

siddhattha
Guys always wait for atleast 3 months and than move into the version. Let the development team comes with something like 1.5.5.1/2/3/4 Than go for 2 step backward., like 1.5,5.2 In the meanwhile.. The real programmers will sit together / or / look into what are the problems thru their mails .. One thing the support team have to SERIOUSLY look into is to integrate atleast a paypal module a part of the system and not as a module. And that is to, not restricting to countries.. What the point of having a shopping cart when you cannot even bill your clients in your local currency? That defeat the WHOLE PURPOSE of shopping cart.. Just because of that one feature, Many are moving to other cart systems on the market.. And some are making some modules as a pay modules.. Think of this.. If there is another shopping cart can give them the basic plus the MOST important of thing like payment for FREE Even if the software is a little buggy or not to what they want.. they prefer it rather than having this and unable to process it in their own currency and on checkout it have to go thru a conversion..That is really ridiculous.. A shopping cart where no proper payment? It is called just a template and can't be even classified as a shopping cart.. I love this script It can have LOTS of features.. But if it is unable to cater on payment in all currencies, This is just a waste of time.. No one want to start a free shopping cart and need to pay for a payment modules as some other scripts have them for free.. Pay script should be only be dome for external modules.. No one can do a international shipping on cash on delivery or not many can do cheque payment .. or not many are comfortable with bank transfer ( which is also just local and not done internationally thru online ) At least give them something like a paypal module which is scripted for ALL currency.. paypal don't really restrict it.. if not atleast explain how to configure the software to their own .. And also.. the attributr value and features are very crumble some.. When we create a attribute.. it should be added into the product listing and not have to go thru another process of "combinations" For example.. I have a product which need a field which shows them this product is = a,b,c So i make the attribute. And when I make a new or edit the old product.. I want to see those field there.. And a feature to show that field on the product list or not too.. Another example is.. I have a shirt.. Which have , XS, S, S, M, L, XL ,XXL Instead of saving the product list and than reopening thru the combination.. Why not the attributes shows in the product entry time instead of going thru another process.. If that field is not relevant.. It should not be shown in the field.. And another feature is.. Discounted items should be shown as discounted.. Like slash the price and show the original and later the new one as a part of the cart.. And furthermore, since you give a standard theme.. can't you just be creative to give atleast color changing features from the admin area.. And also to be a fixed width or full screen.. as I see.. lots of left and right areas are been under used and it looks crammed.. As I also knows you are here to make money.. But these are the basics what a real merchants wanted.. Than you can make other modules like live chat or webcam chat or other payment modules or even incoperating invision board or any other forums.. and so on... But these are the VERY VERY SMALLEST BASIC a shopping cart need to be proudly to be called a shopping cart.. Right now prestashop is just a TEMPLATE and can't be called a shopping cart.. Sorry if I offended anyone of this product.. But I feels my post would motivate the team to seriously look into make this wonderful product to be the best and yet free EVEN better than the community release of magento or oscommerce
w3bsolutions
Sorry @siddhattha but I think your post is way off topic and has nothing to do with this thread, not to mention I think you are really underestimating all the hard work done by the Prestashop team for free. If you don't like it, don't use it, but don't blame it for characteristics you didn't even think hard enough about. Prestashop is not a template, it is a shopping cart solution. I would recommend you to look up the definition of template in the dictionary. Anyway, this thread is just about problems when upgrading to 1.5.5.0, that's what I opened it for.
siddhattha
Well, Please read my post a little carefully and not in half way. I believe, You are shooting this reply just by reading half way.. please read my post carefully... Or atleast my last pharagraph Please don't simply jump into some conclusion. I am not responsible for you to start a flame here among all.. Well, my comments on the comments and also some hint what can be also be put out here.. I don't like to increase my post by posting all over just to make "crude" remarks. When you want to hit the nail, you hit it on the head ... And fire2, you have no right to say not to use it or to use it or to judge me igf i like it or not.. You have no right to make such a statement.. isn't this a open source? AND please don't try to teach me to look at a dictionary on what is a template and a full blown software.. You open a shopping cart and show me if you can use any oneline payment processor .. hmm.. say a merchant in Pakistan.. in his own currency.. than I would say it is a complete shopping cart not something which allow you to allow you to only deal with few countries and calls itself as a shopping cart and that too thru a module ( how many end user , knows how to use modules in the first place? ) Look at some of our competitors.. they already have bundle few gateway processor and even 3rd party processors for free to accept all type of payment and from any countries and in any currencies for free.. If I am against this script, I would not even make any remarks.. I REALLY like this team I REALLY appreciate this team for the work they put in.. I just want to throw some penny for a thought as this involves in some upgrades and I got a little carried away ( sorry for that fire2) But in future, try to be decent and be polite to anyone you talks too.. Everyone makes mistakes but need not required sarcastic rude reply backs,.. I might or made mistakes, who have not.. But you can't simply judge me .. I bet even in your early days you made such
w3bsolutions
I read your post thoroughly before answering, so that was wrong. Same with your last post, I have read it completely before answering this. I did not mean to be rude at all, sorry about that. I just think that the fact that some features do not work properly in Pakistan does not mean Prestashop is not a pretty advanced shopping cart solution that works fine in Europe/America with just a few tweaks. Just because of that I would not consider it a template. And by the way, 50% of Prestashop is about modules, and I believe 95% of the Prestashop users know how to handle modules. Just saying, nothing personal. So far I run 10+ Prestashop online stores with some really complex products and they are working great. I really think they are doing a great job and most of the features you mentioned might be oriented towards European and American businesses that need those features as they are. Of course everything can be improved, but some of those features are what distinguish Prestashop from the rest (in my case I chose it just because of how their combinations are generated, no other shopping cart allowed me to have a specific price per combination when having several attributes, as chained attributes.). I won't distract this thread more. Lets keep it on topic. I hope the team fixes the upgrading issues.
siddhattha
Hi fire2, Well well.. yes we should not side track the issues here.. Anyway I am not from pakistan.. it was just an example And my issue is not with the western world.. lol. ( Definetly not from US or EURo ).. Double LOL.... i am from the the smallest island but the greatest financial hub in the world.. ( a dream place where anyone from the world would love to live forever .. I believe you know where it is by now .. another hint.. The safest and cleanest place in the world..and ranking the top right now to be the place to be in..) I am a host master.. so you should know how many servers and sites I maintain.. ( any basic hostmasters should have.. infact .. I don't show off how the quantity , quality or the income i generate hourly ) The 95% you are refering are those who have a little basic ideas of PHP and sql.. What about those who are a layman,.. never know anything. and want to set a store and want to try this script.. See, a combination need to be generated and it is not a part of the product adding or editing,, The main feature of any attribute is to be a part of adding a product according to the categories and not a manual generated one.. Anyway.. I am happy to meet you here.. We might one day do business together...If fate allows.. Thanks for your input.. And Do not mistake me please.. I am not against.. I just want this to be the best

preserver
I thought I was going to fix a fatal error I was getting in my my marketing and payment sections by updating, but I just got the same Ajax error while trying to update as everyone else has. Can someone tell me if installing a fresh copy of 1.5.4 should get rid of a fatal error I've been getting? I can redo all of the configurations/ theme/ alterations to my site, and reupload the database backup. I know it will take some time, but I've had no luck fixing the error in the files. Here is is: Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'Unable to load template file 'helpers/modules_list/list.tpl'' in /home1/presesa0/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php:127 Stack trace: #0 /home1/presesa0/public_html/classes/helper/Helper.php(361): Smarty_Internal_TemplateBase->fetch() #1 /home1/presesa0/public_html/classes/controller/AdminController.php(1521): HelperCore->renderModulesList(Array) #2 /home1/presesa0/public_html/controllers/admin/AdminPaymentController.php(225): AdminControllerCore->renderModulesList() #3 /home1/presesa0/public_html/classes/controller/AdminController.php(1437): AdminPaymentControllerCore->renderView() #4 /home1/presesa0/public_html/controllers/admin/AdminPaymentController.php(141): AdminControllerCore->initContent() #5 /home1/presesa0/public_html/classes/controller/Controller.php(167): AdminPaymentControllerCore->initContent() #6 /home1/presesa0/public_html/classes/Dispatcher.php(349): ControllerCore->run() #7 /home1/presesa0/public_html/adminba in /home1/presesa0/public_html/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php on line 127 I tried overwriting all the program files that had to do with the error, but it persists. Since the 1.5.5 update isn't working as fix, or at all, (I thought the update might overwrite the files that were causing the problem), does anyone have any ideas besides starting fresh with the program files, then restoring my database files? Even if the error was still going on based on some weird database interaction, I could just reupload my inventory- time consuming, for sure, but right now I can't accept payment through my site, so it useless... Any thoughts- let me know!
bside2234
Hello, I tried upgrading my installation from 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.5.0 using the latest version of the auto-upgrade module but there is a point during the upgrade that I get this: error for copying /img/t/0.gif error when trying to upgrade /img/t/0.gif and then I get a message saying: "Do you want to revert to [last backup]", if I click Cancel or Ok it does not do anything, the upgrade just stops and there is no way of getting past that error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance Make sure the permission for these folders and gif images are above 700. I had this same problem with a different folder. Changed all permissions to 777 and update went smooth. Probably a good idea to go back and change them back to the original permissions after the update. benjamin utterback
Will wait until other some positive reply comes on Forum Are you still having trouble with the upgrade sir? You should test the upgrade first on a duplicate store to see if it works for you. That way there is no risk to your live store.
fetis
Last night I tried to update 1.5.4.1 to 1.5.5.0, before this I updated 1-click upgrade tool to the latest version. During update process I got error that some php files can't be updated and tool suggested me revert changes back, but this fails too. So, it's very bad tool because I'm unable neither update (to next minor version!), nor roll back. Now shop is broken and I have to install 1.5.5 from scratch.
