Deserteagle111
That's screwed up, they have everything there for sales tax but it doesn't work. I just can't sell to my home state something is wrong with that.
tomerg3
What version of Prestashop are you using? Did you select the right tax in the product editor? While the tax system in Prestashop can be a little difficult to understand, it works correctly on a state level.
Deserteagle111
I have selected the correct tax but it is charging that tax to out of state buyers also and I don't want that, what can I do to get it to only charge to in state residents only? JerseyG
Hi Deserteagle111 Here is something off the wall for you, I have not tried it but I think it may work for you. Create a Zone called Illinois. Go to “States” “Illinois” and change the zone to Illinois Go to Countries and create a country called “Illinois” who’s Zone is Illinois Go to Tax and create a Tax relevant to your required tax Now go to your Tax rule open your Tax rule and add new tax rule within in it for the country “Illinois” with the Tax for Illinois As I say I have not tested the idea but the logic looks good. Deserteagle111
Tried this and it disabled the shipping carrier service, how do all the other web sites do this stuff?
JerseyG
Silly question but did you add the new zone to the appropriate carriers? Vekia has also pointed out the documented way to do taxes and it shows that it goes down to states http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Understanding+Local+Settings#UnderstandingLocalSettings-Taxes Remember that you have only one tax rule and that rule contains the specific countries and their tax levels. Sorry that I can't help more. G

TDCadmin
I have found that with the 1.5.6.2, the best method to fixing the "Out of state sales tax issue" is to enter a zip code range for the state you want to charge tax for and disable all other states.
