top horizontal menu to only display current sub-categories

Hi All,

 

is it possible to restrict the contents of the top horizontal menu to only display sub categories of the category the user is currently in?

 

E.G.

home

-cat1

--cat1a

--cat1b

-cat2

--cat2a

--cat2b

 

So when a user is on home page they see all categories.

When user is in cat1, they only see cat1a and cat1b

and when in cat 2, only cat2a and cat2b are available?

Not standard possible, needs some custom modification.

 

But do you really want this? The menu is normally used as a shortcut to quickly move to another place in the application. The submenu's can already be chosen on the category list page itself (almost at the top of the page, just below the current-category-image, are the available subcategories displayed), but if you want to go back one or two pages, or to another category in another branch, you limit the user to do that. It has to click the shop logo or so to go all the way back to the top, before it can choose another category.
