Module distribution and license

Hi everybody,

i searched on the forum but unfortunately i didn't found the answers i was searching, so sorry if this isn't the right place where i should put the question..

 

However, i want to create a module and then distribute it on addon.prestashop.com, so i would know:

 

a ) there's a guide or something like that explaining me on how to publish the module (not the development, i'm able to build a module i only want to distribute it)

 

b ) i saw that the modules are selled under license (domain license, right?), but how this works? how i could prevent to re-use my module on other sites once bought for one?

then you need to create own account on https://addons.prestashop.com/, then go to the: seller account

 

 

then click on add module /add theme button

 

 

 

and fill the form... and wait for approval :-)

 

 

2) unfortunately we can't do anything in this case. You have to trust your customers

I have one question vekia, how much time take after upload a module, if any one wants to give free module on add on site is that allowable

 

once module update can update product details.

free modules go through the same verification as paid modules, it takes about 7-10 days usally

The modules first go through a Marketing Validation period, once that is cleared, it goes to our Technical validation process where we check the module for technical standards and compatibility. After that, it goes to one last security audit and integration.

 

The whole entire process, from validation to integration can take up to 30 days until you actually see your module on the Addons store.

30 days? sometimes it goes really fast, my modules were accepted in 7-10 days

Yes, usually it is done in that amount of time. However, there are times when it can take longer. So we don't want to put a concrete time period because there are always exceptions.

This is really so much time for module sale, once module need improvement it will take again 30 days, , where other popular market place it take 1-2 days , so people can improve it fast , if that need improvement

It really depends on the complexity of the module and security precautions. However, smartdatasoft, I would say that because you are certified, it will most likely be much less than 30 days.

 

For first time module contributors it takes longer.
