How to enlarge product image on category list

Can anyone point me in the right direction towards making the subcategory brands be more prominent? i.e. - bigger picture icon? The default thumbnails are tiny.

go to bak office preferneces > images tab and change size for medium_default image type

(you have to increase the width and height)

 

then regenerate thumbnails

Thanks Vekia, can you point me to the section in category.css or global.css to accommodate the padding/margins? I changed the image dimensions but its not fitting correctly.

also, the category names also get covered up, hmm...

yeah its because i changed it back to the old view. do you know how I could do the fix I was hoping for? Maybe something like a two column grid style? with the subcat images enlarged and properly showing of course.

oh no i was just using that to say, the default view of the subcategories are too small and bland. I wanted them to stand out more and be more prominent in a sense, by increasing the size of the subcategory image. I changed the dimensions in the pref > image like you suggested but then it came out weird (in the photo posted above). I'm guessing there's CSS coding to change as well.
