centeralweb
Hi everyone. We have a Linux shared hosting account that it control panel is PLESK 11.0, How we can install prestashop on this host? We saw that in a topic a person said the folders should have APACHE 755 permission. But how we can set APACHE as folders owner? Best regards
vekia
upload prestashop installation files via FTP service. Then you will be able to change chmod to to directories (and subdirectories recursively)
centeralweb
And how to change their owner to APACHE?!
vekia
if you're on shared hosting, you don't have to change it. But if you want, to change owner of the files, you need an access to the server console (ssh) and change ownership with CHOWN unix (bash) command
centeralweb
As you now, the shared hosting users have not access to the SSH console. When we installing the prestashop (on the 3rd step) it say that : there is not write permission to some folder (cache, config and etc) and we should set 777 permission for that folders to solve the issue, is this safe? vekia
777 is not god solution, especially on shared hostings, you can try to install prestashop with 777 permissions, after installation try to change files chmod to
