Google Indexes the updated pages with datestamp

hi all

Just wanna ask that how your pages are getting indexed in search engine specially in Google?

Actually i am asking this because whenever i update a product or category or add a new product then Google indexes the page with a date-stamp which looks very bad and it is really useless. Google uses the date stamp specially for blogs and news sites to show the freshness of the content.

But to a store it's useless and its taking a valuable space of meta description. Google allow us with 145 to 155 but with the date i have to keep it around 130 characters which is very annoying.

I asked help from the forum but no luck.

So anyone having this problem and check ur listing in google with this format to be sure

site:www.domain.com " categories " of " products"

It shows on newly updated products or category and in new products
