Add a Customer phone

I would like to add a new field for customer's for there phone number.

How is that possible?

well, there is a field for Home phone & Mobile phone during the registration process, but it's not obligatory for the customer to fill it in. What is it exactly you want?

We are In a small community a best and direct way to contact your buyers is through a phone.
I could send emails but I thought there would be an easy way to add a mandatory field for users to fill during registration.

You can see here how you can add a new field for customer's address.

So, following this post, I've added a new field for customers.
But instead of adding a new field in ps_address table you have to add it in ps_customers table.
Then, you have to edit:
/themes/yourtheme/authentification.tpl
/classes/Customer.php
/admin/tabs/AdminCustomers.php
