Alt100
Hi, Google is using the DMOZ description in my search results instead of the description I've set up in the back office. Any ideas how i can stop this? I've checked on google and found a solution, but i'm not sure which file i need to edit. http://www.bsolveit.com/fa[spam-filter]a-13--why-is-google-using-the-dmoz-snippet-description-for-my-site-in-search-results.htm Any help is gratefully received. vekia
if you want to add own meta tag (exactly as is suggested in the article) you can do it in the header.tpl file located in your theme directory. you've got there smarty code (html+smarty functions) and aslo simple <head> blocks where you have to put this code. if you have any additional questions - feel free to write
Alt100
Many thanks for the reply. If i insert this into the header.tpl file will it then default to the descriptions set up in the back office (SEO & URLS). i'm using the default theme (1.54) so don't really want to make too many changes as i'm not a programmer by any stretch of the imagination. <meta name="robots" content="noodp, noydir" />
FME_Modules
And Google will take time to update your new description. may be week or so.
