jazzin
I tried searching, but couldn't find an answer. I am looking to set up Prestashop on a temp URL before moving to a live site. Does anyone know how to do this, or what needs to be changed? In phpMyAdmin I changed the value to my temp URL in SHOP_DOMAIN SHOP_DOMAIN_SSL and shop_URL when I did this I was presented with a redirect loop. Thanks for the help! benjamin utterback
Hi jazzin... Why don't you host it locally on your computer first? Maybe I don't quite understand your question.
jazzin
Hi jazzin... Why don't you host it locally on your computer first? Maybe I don't quite understand your question. I'll try to explain a little bit more. I have a current live site on one server. I have a copy of my live site on a separate server for testing purposes. I access this server through a temp URL. I have downloaded and installed Prestashop to test with my current site, but don't know how to set it up with the temp URL. I am able to access it through the host files for the time being. benjamin utterback
Okay, so if you already have a domain/subdomain that you want to use for testing, then you can add the PrestaShop files to the subdomain directory on your FTP. Let us know how you changed the shop_domain and base URI fields. If you are presented with a redirect loop than you may want to try to delete your htaccess file and generate a new one. Make sure you have backup of your database and PrestaShop files, that is always good practice. Keep us posted, thank you!

jazzin
I decided to just navigate to the site through my hosts files. My next thing to figure out, is how to move the shop directory after configuring everything. Thank you for the help. I may attempt what you mentioned above regarding deleting the .htaccess Benjamin. And I am using PS 1.5.
