EN-GB Woes

Recommended Posts

Hello

When I set up our prestashop install i set my translation to GB and that is my default language and 90% of the time customers end up on the page. I have also disabled the change language option on the homepage.

However, every now and again customers are magically ending up on the EN website. Now i've not ever typed up, prices , field out detailed of any EN Stuff so of course we get emails saying " Well whats in this product".

The only way around this I can see is for me to duplicate or manually (EEEK) type everything into the EN version of the product/pages etc. Any work around?

I think its only the odd link or even the emails sent out which seem to default to EN but ultimately i want everyone on the GB page.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Hmm, trying it again briefly on my localhost, I'm not getting any real issues. I did get a couple of 404 errors where I'd used the 'gb' in urls, so it appears that if there is only one language enabled, that language code is not used in url construction.

Maybe I'll give it a second chance!

Doing the change of default language and disabling GB works fine, however none of my products has any data in them for the EN language so I am going to have to copy all the text for all the products into the EN version.

When I went the other way around and disabled EN and just went to GB for some reason my control panel (IE the langauge of the preferences under admin/employees switches to English GB) it all went french...this seems the easier route bar the control panel problem...please advise
