Is there a PrestaShop site setting file which can be used as a backup?

Is there a PrestaShop site setting file which can be used as a backup? Like an INI or XML file for global and an optional setting for all sellers shops, is there a file like this? Be great if it can be imported to a freshly installed PrestaShop.

This would be used:

  • If the integrity of the shop is at question/ install a fresh PrestaShop and import the site settings
  • Moving the site to another host which you want to keep the CSS and global settings from the existing site
  • Adding another PrestaShop script to a dedicated server

prestashop is based on mysql database and all important informations are stored in the database, The only way of the backup - is to backup the database and whole files related to the products / images separately.

with database backup you can:

  1. move shop anywhere you want (to a different hosting, to new domain, new subdirectory etc.)
  2. import data of the old store to the fresh install (but some additional changes in this case will be necessary)
  3. exactly as in point 1

Additionally, the layout of your shop can be saved by exporting the theme:

Go to modules->modules and find the module import/export a theme. (Install it if not done yet)

Then go to configure screen and select the theme to export. Then press Export this theme button

To restore, go to the same configuration screen and import the file here.

My 2 cents,

Thank you Vekia and PascalVG,

The template response hits closer to what I wanted, however I was interested in the global settings such as localization and others imported as an XML file(s) without the baggage and file size of the entire database. So from your response, I gather there is no files of this type or script to create a settings file.

Not that I know of. We could create one, if you tell us what settings you want included. Would be a database dump of these tables then, that you can import in a new database. (A little trial and error, as I never did a partial database import. We need to check for integrity, links to other tables etc... a little challenging :-)
