Bobcat22
To better demonstrate/instruct a point for URL examples, it be best to present real examples. I found that the manuals is for me, confusing on how URLs can be created for different shop setups. Confused on #1 - Shop Domains Quoted from the manual, ". . you can have as many shops on one domain name as you want: Using subfolders: http://www.myprestashop.com/men/, http://www.myprestashop.com/women/, http://www.myprestashop.com/kids/, http://www.myprestashop.com/pets/, etc." A seller's shop URL will not have a generic name like "men," so why give that as an example where "/men/" could be a department with a number of sellers? This is confusing because "/men/" could be a "Mens" division which could then have under it, a number of sellers domains. Confused on #2 - When Using Subfolders Quoted from the manual, "In the case of subfolder stores, make sure to create two URLs for each store: one with the "www.", one without it! For instance: http://www.myprestashop.com/men/ and http://myprestashop.com/men/. Otherwise, customers trying to access your secondary store without the "www." in the URL will be redirected to your main store." I assume the "www" which proceeds the domain name, would have the assets like: images, blogs, content? Secondly, how would a visitor try accessing a URL of a seller within a search engine of the site? I would think it would be a button, image or ad that would get then to the seller's page. I point this out as this is a subfolder not a sub-domain. Edited August 10, 2013 by Bobcat22 (see edit history)
