Homepage Changed? whats going on?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Im just about finished my site and all of a sudden the text on the footer has changed back to the demo default text

I have checked my homepage text editor in modules but it has my text saved that should be on my home page - and was on my homepage until a few minutes ago! - Tried re saving but nothing changes?

ALso the home slider has gone back to showing Ipods even though my back end has my pictures stored and nolonger has default ipod images.

Any Ideas?

I have just checked my modules and the image slider has my images in my back office, as does my home page text editor, However thats not showing live on my site. Its showing the standard ipods image slider and the sample demo footer text.

I tried uninstall module then re install pasting on my text again and uploading my images but they are not changing on my homepage.

I just dont get it how this would auto do this? very frustrated again :(

Did you clean your browser cache? Try first and reload page.

If that doesn't help,

Try to load the page, adding

?setcache

at the end of the URL, e.g. www.mydomain.com/?setcache )

at the end. See if that helps. (If so, it's probably something with caching on server side)

Turn OFF cache in Advanced Parameters->Performance, save, load age and see if that helped. (Don't forget to turn ON cache again before going live with your site, as it speeds up loading considerably)

Let me know,

pascal

Hi Pascal,

It seams its only on my computer its doing this, tried everything and ended up uninstalling/re installing then disabling.

I have with a fresh head after a few hours sleep enabled it again and although my PC Sees the revolving Ipads still.... My iphone sees it correct as does my friends laptop.

Im just worried how do I ensure that my customers dont end up seeing the revolving ipods in the future?

Problem is now when I uninstalled the revolver image slider and re installed it it now appears at the bottom of the page (under my featured products)...

How can i get it back above my featured products again?

many thanks again for your help

Ok so I thought this was just on my pc as i tried it on lots of others and the website appeared as it should be.... but now on my mobile phone device aswell.... the old ipod slider is showing and the Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, text :( I tried ?setcache tip but it doesnt do anything.

I checked advanced parameters and it appears catche is already disabled.. when i try to enable it i get this error

To use Memcached, you must install the Memcache PECL extension on your server. http://www.php.net/manual/en/memcache.installation.php

really appreciative any help x

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi ak,

do you have a link to your site?

Hi Pascal, and thank you for your quick reply! It's working as usual now, I called the support on my hosting provider and they recommended me to downgrade to the previous version, and voilá, no iphones or lorem ipsum. This guy adviced me to wait a couple of weeks and see if this is a bug in 1.5.5, and then upgrade again. I myself have only worked in Wordpress before so this is a bit beyond me.

Best wishes!
