Delicate
I have recently upgraded from Presta 1.4.x to 1.5.4.1. I created a development site and created evertyhing from scratch ensuring that my catagories and products are up to date and that the right references and images are loaded. I proceeded to export the database to my new live site, copied the dev content to the live site, edited the config files, and wha-la; Site running, EXCEPT, No Stock and no product images. I managed to fix the stock issue by enabling the advanced stock manager, but still no product images. Please can someone help me with this as it is driving me insane. I cannot be that difficult to migrate from one site to the next when all that really changes is the domain name. Any input here will be welcomed, but please note, if it means having to reload all my images, then 1.5 is a step back from 1.4!
El Patron
it may be as simple as regenerating your .htaccess. in preferences-->seo and urls-->scroll down if you are running friendly urls, turn it off save, turn it on save. if not running friendly urls, turn it on save, turn it off save
karthiiiiiiiiiik
what you have done is correct go to seo and url and change the site link. it will be your development url change it to production url and save it.. check for images in img folder if it present or not.if not copy all the dev files again ... if the images are present go to preferences and themes under it you can see regenerate thumbnails .this will help you
Delicate
Thank you El and Karthik... But here is the spanner in the works... I tried your suggestions on a 2nd site ( I have 3 sites using the same content ). When I use the data from the DEV Site, I get the lack of images. If I export the first live site where I have redone the image link, that image remains, and regenerating the thumbnails makes no difference. The Dev site I regenerated the thumbnails and copied it to the 2nd Live Site and still no change with the other missing images. Bizzare?! Now please bear in mind that I am doing a straight DB export/Import, so I am suspecting that I am missing something from the Dev DB since I have to admit that after the first failure, I only exported the DB content relevant to the site and the products, not a complete DB Dump. Can you confirm my suspicions...
El Patron
for images, there are three db tables. you may want to consider importing those tables. This is how ps determines which images to fetch. http://screencast.com/t/65ElhFPE
Delicate
Hi El... Call me a moron and run me through town. I should have tried that first before posting the question. Thank you for your confirmation and have a fab day!
El Patron
who would 'normally' look there? Images are a complex beast..so much so that localizaton doesn't work, i.e. image by lang even though it supports the lang table...things that make some of us go hum...
