Order & Payment Modifications

The following is a description of the opportunity to be used as a part of a solution for a restaurant. The optimal solution will be a combination of modules that install and operate as other PS modules.

The overall solution will act as a point of sale for a restaurant. The specific need starts at the point of check out.

Mandatory:

There must be the ability to assign the overall order to a table and each line item to a seat. When looking up the shopping card, or subsequent order, we must be able to filter by table and seat.

Upon order placement, the order must be sent to the proper prep station in the kitchen. These stations need to be assigned to each product. For instance, a salad, celery sticks would belong to "cold apps". Steak, Burger would belong to "Entrees". The order should not be broken up to accomplish this if possible. There should still be the ability to filter upon these new statuses so that each station only sees the portion of orders relevant to their station.

Upon payment, there must be an easy way to split the check by both seat and payment. It must be easy to also assign individual line items to one source of payment and others to a different source of payment. To make it simple, think about going out to eat with a group of friends. One person might pick up the appetizer, another person might just pay for himself, a third person might pay for him and his date. All options need to be available.

Nice-to-Have:

After the order is placed, coursing (e.g. do not start preparing an entre until fifteen minutes after the appetizer has been taken to the table) must take effect, and also the order must be split up and each line item set to the proper prep station. For example, if chicken wings, beer, salad and steak are ordered, the chicken wings is put in "hot app prep" status, the beer is put in "beverage prep" status, the salad is placed into "wait prep" status as is the steak. After ten minutes, the salad is automatically moved to "cold app prep" status. Ten minutes later the steak is put into "meat prep" status. After the meal is prepped, it is put into cook status. Each product needs to have a specific amount of time that can be entered for: prep, cook, garnish. This will allow the system to calculate when to take something out of wait status. That being said, coursing is a "nice-to-have".

I look forward to hearing from you all!
