Belgium
Hi, I recently discovered PS in my search for a new shop i like the looks en backend of PS I currently using OSC for more than 2 years now, i am planning to swith to another shop, i am thinking of Magento or maybe PS. But i need to switch this month. Magento is currently stable, but unfortunately PS isn't yet. Is it wise to swith to PS v1.0 right now? or what do you recommend, i saw that there already some live PS shops out there. Thanks for your reply

Intrami
Do you recommend PS to use for LIVE shop? NO. Try Magento better.
ejectcore
Hello Belgium I have been using Prestashop for the past few months although development seems to be slow at the moment this system has to be at least 10 times better than Oscommerce. As for Magento I have recently tested this on a site & decided to come back to Prestashop, as the entire admin interface is far more user friendly. Also if you have web development skill this system can be easily adapted to suit your needs. And Im sure for the average user without any background skills will also be able to use the earlier version PrestaShop 0.9.7 which is in fact stable although it will be worth waiting for V1 stable. For me own projects I will be using RC3 than updating each site when RC4 is available, but I really hope this is the last Release candidate & the Prestashop will be ready to become stable But what I will say after doing some re-search V1 is the most powerful open source Shopping cart available online You just need to sometimes give those developers a gentle nudge
DrÿSs'
Try Magento better. Ok, but just try to install it... Then, if a miracle occurs and you install it, just wait 10 minutes for loading each page ! And I don't speak to use back-office, or you'll get crazy. At final, you'll come back here ;D See you soon
businesswoman
Hi, I recently discovered PS in my search for a new shop i like the looks en backend of PS I currently using OSC for more than 2 years now, i am planning to swith to another shop, i am thinking of Magento or maybe PS. But i need to switch this month. Magento is currently stable, but unfortunately PS isn't yet. Is it wise to swith to PS v1.0 right now? or what do you recommend, i saw that there already some live PS shops out there. Thanks for your reply I have tried (actually I'm still paying) for Magento site - it is very hard unless you know code - I do not. Many of the features they say it has do not work. For weeks I had submitted questions to the forum and even tried emailing them directly, but never got any help or instructions. It has been so frustrating. I also have another site with a different host with the Miva5 Merchant - which is almost as bad as the Magento. As result, neither site is built and as many times as I try, it's not working for me. This is what has brought me to Prestashop and I'm very excited about being able to use it. They say that Magento is stable, but even my host, a Platimum Partner with Magento, could not figure out how to install a WYSIWYG editor - which PS has already, and their images in the catalog are distorted. I tried their resize modual, but again, couldn't get it to work as it was built by a community member. Prestashop, at least by the demo, does not have these problems and if you're looking for a new cart, I would suggest Prestashop over the others. I have not downloaded PS yet as I am waiting for some of the new features to become available that is why I watch/read the forums every day and will as soon as these features are available. The best thing I have found about Prestashop is that the forum is actually providing good answers and honest help in a true OS fashion and the developers apparently are working hard to make the suggested improvements and corrections - bless them all. With Magento, they lack the support and the forum gets few answers provided. Their documentation is so incomplete. The end product may look enticing, but, like I said, unless you are a programmer - good luck. I am hoping to find someone that can set up the Prestashop for me so all I have to do is type in my products, add images, set my keywords, etc., hit the save button and start selling my home decor products (I'm a retailer, not a programmer). Although I have a good general idea of the concept of code, I do not know how to do it. If anyone would be willing to do this for a nominal fee, please contact me. petera
Im a patient kiwi. I have a small shop running successfully under 0.9.7. I am waiting for v1.? but until that time am quite happy to stay with 0.9.7. I have looked around at various other shopping packages but havent found anything as straight forward as PS. (even amongst some of the pay for packages) Having set up the shop initially my [spam-filter] is now picking up the reigns and doing most of the back office stuff so we are happy. Look forward to the stable release as it does have some nice features we would like to use. Cheers Peter A
