Sati628
Hello, I want to show the shopping cart product totals without tax until the final total I have managed to change it to do this, however, if you change the product quantity the prices revert unless you refresh the page. does anyone know how to make the page automatically reload when you change the quantity, i have a reload command but im unsure where and how to add it, to reload the page when you click the add or subtract quantity button, so far i have only been able to add a refresh cart "button" heres a link to the site feel free to add products and you'll see what i mean http://telephoneheadsets.net/order Thanks
stottycabanas
I just selected one of your products at random (from a category page) and added it to the cart. The result was somewhat confusing! I can see where the figures have come from, but in the cart you're showing a mixture of a tax-exclusive product price and a tax-inclusive shipping cost, so the tax value shown includes an amount that's already in the shipping cost. As a result the cart total, whilst being the correct amount to ask the customer to pay, is not the sum of the elements above it. If you change the shipping cost to be tax exclusive (i.e. it would show £8.00 instead of £9.60), then it all adds up. It's also confusing to see the price against the product of £20.00, but then that figure doesn't appear in the cart at all. If you want the product prices in the cart to be exc. tax, those are the prices you should quote throughout. The prices exc. tax and inc. tax are shown in the product page, but that's not the only place from which you can add to the cart. As for changing the quantity, I'm not sure whether you're referring to doing this on the product page, or in the cart. If you change the quantity in the cart, the recalculation occurs automatically as expected. If you change the quantity on the product page, nothing will happen until you click Add to cart, when that quantity of the product will be added to the cart - again as expected. Sorry, but I can't work out where you have the issue, or what you mean by 'the prices revert' - revert from what to what? NB there's another forum member who would be interested in what you've done, so I'll direct them to this thread. Hope that's of some help. Sati628
Hi Dave, Sorry about the confusion let me clarify. I know the prices vary throughout the site I havent had a chance to edit them to be shown without tax everywhere yet. My main issue is after you have added a product to the cart and then go into the cart for the checkout process it shows a summary of your order. all prices here are shown without tax, however if you use the add or subtract button to vary the quantity the prices are automatically calculated but with tax and only by refreshing the page do they then change to show it without tax. thats why i put in a refresh page button directly below the quantity. i would like for the page to automatically refresh after the quantity has changed to show the prices without tax all the time. i have also found that im unable to show the shipping tax exclusive in the cart module, if you can advise me how to do this that would be appreciated. heres an example of what happens... if you add the jpl 301 usb headsets to the cart. the prices exc vat is £17 and inc vat is £20.40. now if you click the cart button and view the page, it shows all the prices without tax, the total tax and the total. use the add or subtract button to change the quantity, lets say we add another headset so we have 2, you'd expect the price to know be £34 exc tax instead it shows £40.80 inc tax, if you refresh the page the prices then show exc tax. I would like for it to automatically refresh the cart so it alwasy shows prices exc tax regardless of how you change the quatity. I hope that's cleared it up. stottycabanas
OK Sati, I see your issue, but I'm afraid I don't have the technical knowledge to solve it. I hope someone else does.
