talulahcoco
Hi everyone, Im trying to install prestashop on GoDaddy. I got this error PDO MySQL extension is not loaded. I did some research and I found out that I should ask my hosting provider about it and this is their response: "Thank you for contacting Online Support. I understand that you are looking for a php.ini file in your hosting account, and currently there is not one there. This file is something that would be uploaded or created by you as any other files in your account." From what I understood, I need to create the file myself? I am a newbie and don't know how to go about this. How do I make this file? What should be the content? Would it be possible for someone to provide me a copy of this file so that I can upload it to my account? I've been stuck with this problem for sometime now. Please help... Thanks! El Patron
without knowing which type of hosting account you have, shared/vps/dedicated helping with php.ini and or httpd.conf will be difficult. try this: at installation, select mysql db type MYISAM
talulahcoco
Hi, thanks for responding. I have a shared hosting. I appreciate your suggestion unfortunately I don't understand how I can do it. You will see there how far I can only go..
El Patron
I removed you url so others can not run the installation. My 'understanding' is that ps will allow you to continue installation even if pdo is not there as it will use mysqli. But when I looked at your installation process I noticed that was not possible to choose on the screen. Let's try this, create a sitemap.xml on your local machine and ftp it to your remote prestashop install. Then see if the installer will allow you to proceed. Now, here is the million dollar question, according to godaddy support forum PDO is not enabled on windows hosting accounts but is for Linux. Is your hosting account a windows or linux? (If you don't know contact Godaddy)....if it's windows then you should seriously consider having them switch you to a linux server environment. here is more info for php.ini on godaddy shared hosting http://support.godaddy.com/groups/web-hosting/forum/topic/where-is-php-ini-located-in-linux-4gh-shared-hosting/
talulahcoco
That's also one of my problems. I was able to change permissions of the other files but somehow, it didn't work on sitemap.xml. I tried your suggestion of creating a local sitemap, but nothing's changed. I guess you might be right about the windows accounts, that's what I have now. Let me try contacting GoDaddy if I can switch to linux. I'll write again if I still encounter problems after that. But hopefully I don't.. Thanks again for your help! El Patron
yes, move to linux, this will prove invaluable when you try to turn on friendly url's...it may cause you a delay now, but in the long run save you loads of time
