Installing Prestashop Issues

Hi,

 

This is my first foray into hosting a website for my fathers business and i have having some difficulty.

 

I have folllowed the instructions and unzipped the prestafiles into the root via FTP, i then enter my website adress/install and i get the below message

 

 

You don't have permission to access /install/ on this server.

 

 

Cant see what i have done wrong, i used filezilla to upload, my control panel to unpack the files and i deleted the empty presta folder. My webhoster is Fast Hosting Direct.

 

Any help would be greatfully appreciated

Try to change permission of the /install folder to 755 ( with chmod or you can do it in filezilla as well)

Install folder has permission 755, i checked this with filezilla and control panel?

 

Happy to give somebody permission to look if thats the done thing around here?

I would just try it with 777, some hosts have stricter permission sets. Also, you should definitely contact your host about this issue because it's a permissions issue from the host.
