Issues with icons and css after disabling Amazon CloudFront

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I am having trouble with various icons and images not displaying properly after disabling Amazon Cloud Front as our CDN media servers. Icons like the x to close the thickbox is there, but you cant see it, and some background images like the gradient on our top menu is not displaying either, but there is no broken images. The most notable item is our top menu. The menu is still there between the search bar and the image slide, but the text is white and since the background image isn't displaying correctly, it looks blank. I have tried enabling Cloud Front again, clearing the cache, and regenerating images with no luck in fixing the issue. If anyone could be so kind as to help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it.

it's hard to say what's going on, i don't know how your store looks like before the changes :/

anyway, you can try to:

1) turn on force compilation

2) turn off CCC

3) turn off cache

4) reload your front end (just refresh it)

Well Vekia I still have a problem with this. Now that we turned of the smart cache for css the site is extremely slow. Is there a reason that the other items would not display correctly when we turn that css smart cache on? The template is supposed to be compatible. I would like your insight on this if possible. If we leave the smart cache for css disabled, the is painfully slow and not user friendly. Thanks in advanced.

I disabled it, cleared the cache, and re-enabled it. If I choose the smart cache for CSS, I lose images in certain areas, if you look at the site again, you will see the menu is "missing". The links are still there but the background img is not loading and there are various other icons that are missing when that is enabled.
