Kat84
Hello, I just migrated my site from one host to another. All went well, but there are some things that are not correct yet. So far I found out the following that is not correct yet and I can't find a solution for them. I hope someone here might be able to help me solve all this! - All my product pictures are gone (they show white spaces) - All thumbnails are gone (from products and also from subcats) When I look at my back office I see all thumbnails are gone too, for example in my products list. When I open a product and check the images, there still are images, but without their thumbnails. - In my back office the tiny images in front of the menu markers (for example the advanced parameters, catalogue, localisation etc) are gone, and so are the tiny images you need to click when wanting to edit a product or remove a product. It all is text instead of the tiny images that need to be there.... - I tried to regenerate my thumbnails in the back office but I got an error message something like "Can't "No picture" image to the (categories) image folder. Check the permissions of the folder" At this moment it's all the problems I can see, I hope it's a small issue which I can solve as soon as possible..... I'm using 1.5.4.1 and I previously coped with this issue: http://www.prestasho...17#entry1305517 so I moved from one hosting server to another. Please help! My old website is partly down as well with all kinds of errors which I don't understand so I'm currently without a selling venue Thanks! El Patron
one issue of moving form one server to the other is if the other server has everything to support ps....typically we find this out by installing ps on a server....when we just move the data...there is not safety check check your configuration to see if ps has any issues http://screencast.com/t/Lnx6ay5esN if all good, then turn off friendly url's, save....then turn on friendly url's, then save...revisit your site and f5 and/or clear browser cache.... Kat84
Ok, I got an error there, or at least it says I need to make "img" folders writable (I'm translating this from my own language so I'm not sure what it would say exactly when in English). There also is a big list of changed files (509) and some missing files (3) underneath the "check your configuration" tab thingy. El Patron
nice...if the img folder is not writable...most likely reason for images not working properly....I'd not be to concerned about changes files.. let us know how it goes after you fix the write permissions
Kat84
Thank you, can you please let me know how I can change the permissions and for which folders and/or files I need to do this? I don't know which ones I need to change And is the big list of changed files (509) and some missing files (3) underneath the "check your configuration" tab thingy in advanced paramaters/configuration information a bad thing? Do I need to fix it?
El Patron
for images (this is personal preference) set to 755 note: you need to do this recursively, i.e. all files/folders note: other folders typically are best set at 755 with subfolder files at 644 you could accomplish there in a number of ways: ftp program (right click the remote folder) you hosting control panel (varies by control panel type) via ssh (using chmod)
Kat84
Ok, I checked here with Filezilla: mysite/themes/mytheme/img folder and it was set on 755. When I open the img folder and check one of the images it is set to 644. There are 3 types of users mentioned, owner, groups and public. For the folder only the owner has "writable" ticked (and also "reading" and the other one are ticked). This was how I saw it when opening it in filezilla, so I didn't change anything. Or am I not doing it right? I'm sorry I'm such a twerp for not understanding this
El Patron
I noticed on one of our shops, where we typically have 755/sub 644...that for images it was 755/sub 755.

Kat84
It's solved! In the end it turned out that my back up system didn't add the img folder with all the images to my back up so I needed to upload that folder and when I did, everything was working again (I did need to regerate the thumbnails though).
