deepee
HiI note that other forum users have reported the problem of being unable to get past this message in step 3 of the installation routine. However I cant see anyone having posting a definitive resolution. Here is my environment:-- My database has been already set up and is accessible- Sever is "localhost"- PHP version 5.2.9- MySQL version 5.0.81-communityThings I have tried:-- Deleted the database and created a new one- Changed the new database name to 10 characters- Deleted users and passwords and tried different ones.- Made sure the password does not contain anything but alpha numeric characters- Refreshed the browser window and tried both Firefox and IE- Checked file permissionsI still end up stuck at "Database Server is available but database is not found"Has anyone actually worked through this issue and come up with a fix?ThanksDeePee
Patric
Make sure your MySQL server supports UTF-8.

MikeChoy
Have you check the database name in yr server (or cpanel). If there is a prefix xxxxx_yourdatabasename you should use this to enter into your prestashop installation.
deepee
Thanks all for your suggestions.Adrian was correct, I had overlooked the database privileges for the single user I set up.The installation routine has now completed. Now to set up the shop......!RegardsDeepee
