change the home page layout only

Hi there,

 

I need the support of all of you

 

I'm going to change the layout of my prestashop 1.5.4.1

 

I want to modify the home page only adding "margin-top: 320px" to both right and left column so that I'll have a bigger slider below the "top of page >> top menu".

 

If I modify the global.css file then the column will be modified in every page of the website.

 

I think I have to write a smarty code in some TPL file (probably header and footer), but I have no idea how to do that or which code I can add

You're gonna need ALL of us? You're problem is quite complex if you need 535848 users to solve it.

 

Any way : Can we see your website (The url plz!)?

 

But guessing from the image : you're using the default theme. This theme define the body with a unique id based on th page name. You're solution in css could work if you give a longer path more unique :

body#index #page #left-column, body#index #page #right-column{margin-top:320px;}
