[Solved] Database Server is available but database is not found

Hello to all!.
Please help me to resolve this problem.

I'm trying to install Presta but I Can't... I'm using the last version available.
And I also have the same problem of this guys had ( http://www.prestashop.com/forums/viewthread/2656/ )

I can't make connection with the base.
The user and pass it's works fine but I still getting this message when I click on verify: " Database Server is available but database is not found."

Who can help me please.

Is your host correct? Its possible your "host" is not "localhost", it might be mysql.domainname.com etc... You might want to ask your hosting provider.

Note again: Before launching installation program, you have to first create your database.

Have you check the database name in yr server (or cpanel). Use that name to enter into your prestashop installation

you have to check if your mysql user has granted to access all mysql function on your database.

welll Thanks to all falks for helping me, however, all is correct. The connection to the database is localhost. and the database is working good. I don't know if I must change the permission. But, I don't know why reason I only receive this meesage: "Database Server is available but database is not found"
The presta got to connect to the database, and the user and pwd because if I put another password, I get a message "user or pass bad " So I think the database it's correct, but I don't know where I'm failing.

Hey Adonato,

That error refers to when the database has connected to the server but can not connect to the actual db. V.I.P is probably right, make sure your user has access to the database. What type of control panel do you have? Cpanel? Plesk? Ensim?

Hello,

If you log into your Cpanel click on MySQL Databases, next look for the header "Current Databases".

You should see the database you created - it should be in the format of "username_dbname".

To the right of it do you see a user assigned to it? If not, scroll down the page until you see a header called "Add User To Database".

Select the user and the database and hit Add. On the next page make sure you select "ALL PRIVILEGES".

See if that helps :-)

Yes I did that, but still doesen't working... mmmm however I don't know if the user have full access.. where can I modify that?

Hello,

Where you see the databases listed you should see a column for "USER".. Click the user and it will allow you to edit their access.

but it seems not working with godaddy. how in the hell can I grant full access to a user?
