squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Hi all: When updating the address on the mobile site strange things happen. On the update page are the following: 1. There is a field at the top for "Identification number" I have no idea what it is for and I am sure my customers won't 2. The current state does not appear in the field. All other fields are populated 3. When you try to add a state, the drop down field is empty! 4. When you click to submit you get an error that a state is required as expected 5. When you go back, the "Identification number" field is gone and the state drop downs appear. You can now add the state. V 1.5.4.1 Thank you! This may be due to the account creation change you made but all was well. What you are describing is how things turn out AFTER I press submit, get the "no state" error and go back. tdr170 Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Use your FTP and go to cache, smarty and clear all contents of the cache and compile folders with the exception of any index.php files and try again. benjamin utterback Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 For manual cache clear you need to delete the content of the following folders: cache/smarty/compile cache/smarty/cache img/tmp Delete all the files in the folders, except index.php (As tdr170 noted) I also was not able to reproduce the problem at http://www.signingshotline.com/pts mobile site. I logged in, went to my addresses, clicked the address and updated it. No Identification number appeared and the Dropdown for states showed up. I am on the PC and tried it through the mobile link at the bottom of the page. I also tried it on my daughter's iPod and had the same issue. I cleared the cache. I entered a new customer. Incorrect. It does not show the states in the drop down list while the Identification Number field is showing. All appears fine when creating the account on full site or mobile. It is just when updating or adding a new account on the mobile site that this is happening. On your mobile phone, does it act the same way? Yes it did. Weird! What could be the trigger that would cause the Identification Number field to appear on the mobile page? I would think there would be limited reasons for that to appear. Maybe starting with that I can figure it out. But then the question is, if it is in the code, why me and not you? graftedin Posted January 20, 2014 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Has anyone figured out the solution to this yet? This appears to a be a problem with mobile devices. My guess is that its because that page is relying on javascript/jquery/etc to update the state values based on what country is selected. Great idea in a normal browser. HOWEVER, mobile devices often have limited abilities to handle javascript so there needs to be a fall back plan if the device doesn't support the scripting language nessiary to make these values update. sandya Posted May 11, 2015 Share Posted May 11, 2015 I have the same issue - I tried posting in another subject but I think this one resembles more what is happening to me. The problem is actually with all my drop-down boxes only on mobile. They don't work. It affects the State and Country boxes in the address page as well as the Size box in the the product page.
