squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Hi all: I am having a big problem with Prestashop. I have had 3 customers they couldn't finish registering and purchased products elsewhere. They were all confused with the "alias address name" field. I have asked for error messages and no one had the time to reply (understandable). I cannot duplicate any issue. What do I do? 1. Does anyone have any idea what they are referring to? One person mentioned "tokens". 2. How can I hide that field? It is costing me a lot more than it is worth at this point. Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vekia Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 it's problably related to the front office security, try to turn it off under the preferences > general tab in your back office have you tried to create account in your store? have you got any problems with this ? squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Author Share Posted July 17, 2013 Thank you. I will try this. I also tried the address.tpl solution: open address.tpl and find Move it under {if $field_name eq 'address1'}
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Author Share Posted July 17, 2013 As far as creating an account, I was able to do it fine. I cannot recreate the problem. But all I am doing is changing my current account. I still cannot figure out how to create a fresh account. How can I create a second or third brand new account? vekia Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 i don't understand what you expect. You can create as many "fake" accounts you want, just use different emails, what's the problem? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That is it exactly. I don't see any place to add a new email. I can update the address but there is no place to update email. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Author Share Posted July 17, 2013 Right now I am having a lot of problems with Prestashop. I am probably losing more orders than taking either due to setup issues or just bugs. I would like to be able to take orders over the phone and enter them into prestashop. Problem is, they are all under my email address/account 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tdr170 Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 When you take the order over the phone you must need all the same info as the customer registration requires so in addition to their name, address, phone number ask for their email then create an account with their info and email them the password you created. This way if they want the next time they order maybe they will just go to the site. What version Of Prestashop are you using exactly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I go to my FO and all my info is already in the system. I do not see any option to start a new account. What about the rest any issue with doing it this way. Yes. This IS the problem. I cannot start a fresh account for a new customer in the FO. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tdr170 Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 OK I don't see the issue I clicked log in and the create new account came right up. However their is another way you can do this right from the back office, go to customers click add new and create the account. then go to orders and click add new then you can enter the first name a list will pop up and you can choose the customer then there is an add product enter the first name of the product and a list appears where you can choose what to add to the cart. Try that. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
YiannisK Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 No you are logged in for sure. I am able to create an account at your site. Clear your cookies and cache. Try to use your browser at "Private mode", in chrome it's called incognito. Or just try to check with different browser or PC Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
squareone Posted July 17, 2013 Author Share Posted July 17, 2013 Thanks guys. But the issue isn't a new customer coming and creating an account. It is for ME to create a new account once I already have an account. tdr170. Go in and try to change your email address. AFAIK, you cannot do it. benjamin utterback Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 Hi Square One, you need to create a new account with the customers information. So you will take their Name, Email, Address, and create a password for them, along with their payment info. It's basically like you are making the account for them manually. You said you are not able to? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
tdr170 Posted July 17, 2013 Share Posted July 17, 2013 One thing you can also change is customer account creation the way it is now the customer only creates an account and does not enter the address until they place an order. If you change this to Standard (account creation and address creation) the customers and you will be able to enter all the info on one page. Preferences, customers form the BO. Thank you. Now that you are registered, can you please try updating your address in the mobile version of the site? There are a bunch of problems with that. Please see the link I have in this thread to that thread as well. Edited July 17, 2013 by squareone (see edit history) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
