[solved] footer width different than width of the main block

Hi,

does anyone know how to change the colour of the sides of a page, leaving the middle white.

 

I accessed the global.css file and have changed the colour of the body and the whole page changes.

I also tried to change the header but nothing happened,

 

The part i highlighted in red in the attached file is what I want to be white

 

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME ASAP

you have to edit the #page css style in the global.css file located in your themes/YOUR_THEME/css directory

 

change it to:

#page {
background: #FFF;
padding: 10px;
}

thanks! i managed to do that but the footer and the customer reassurance block is too small and doesnt line up with the border as shown in the attached file :

add also padding:10px; to the #footer section
