polynikes300
Hi Finally i found where the global css file was so I could copy it into notepad & make some changes. So really basic question is.... how do I safely put back the amended CSS file (and so update my shop) using filezilla? To take the file I simply dragged it onto the desk top, do I repeat this in order to put it back? does it need to be renamed? will it simply overwrite the old orginal css file in the default? Totally obvious to 'most of you' i'm sure, but I'd rather ask than make an error straight away! Thanks guys Poly
El Patron
for filezilla questions, I'd review their forum for help... I wanted only to respond to say, create a back up of the original file, i.e global_bkup_date_.css before committing changes back up back up back up

vekia
to be honest, i've noticed that many merchats have got issues with filezilla (breaking/crashing the files while uploading / downloading) in my opinion it's better to use other software, for example totalcmd
RogueWaveLimited
I've found filezilla to be a very bug free app. Never had any unexpected things happen. To answer your question, when you drag a file back into filezilla if the file alread exists at the remote server filezilla will ask you if you want to overwrite and a list of actions you can take. One of the options is "rename" which will allow you to rename the file on the server before the new file is uploaded.
