Guest
Hey everyone, So I have our whole site in USD. Sometimes for a custom project I create an unlisted product that I link my customer to and they can checkout with. However, some of these projects need to be charged in CAD as they are local. How can I make it, even though I have a USD Stripe account, so that for a specific product it is in CAD and the customer pays in CAD and then I guess gets converted into USD for Stripe automatically? I do have a CAD Stripe account but I don't have it connected to Prestashop.
El Patron
uhm....you can try this without modifying ps. and you would probably need someone to do it.... here is a generic way you could achieve it, I don't know you ps version so the exact tabs I can't supply back office-->enable geolocation in your ps via the back office back office-->countries-->set default currency for Canada to CAD this will set the shop currency to cad for Canadian visitors assuming you can load the stripe cad module while also running the stripe usd module install the stripe cad module in payment restrictons set the stripe cad module for Canada Only in payment restrictions set the strip usd module 'not' for Canada now when the visitor uses the link you send them, they should automatically see the CAD price, and when they check out see the stripe cad module... this is just something to try without trying to hack core to achieve this... Guest
Hey El Patron, Thanks for the potential solution. I'm not sure if there is a Stripe Canadian module..just a Stripe module that I could enter either my CAD or USD Stripe Account. So in that case I think since I already have one Stripe account, I'm not sure that I can have another. Could I do the same solution but just have it all funnel into the USD account and get converted? Not optimal financially but it might have to be the best option...? Unless someone has a better solution? Appreciate it! eggo
El Patron
hi eggo, I would contact stripe or post about stripe as I am not familiar with their conversion policy. But if say stripe will convert cad to usd then the proposed solution will be much easier to implement. as for better solution, jajajajaja...that would require custom programming, you could post that up for bid under paid services and see what it would cost. There area some great developers that IMHO charge very good rates....bellini14, nemo1 etc. Me I charge 1,000,000 euros, which I know sounds like a lot but I only need one.
