Taoft
I feel like I can start over and quickly redo everything I've done so far, hopefully without the issues I have accumulated along the way. So what's the right way to do this? I got Prestashop pre-installed by my hosting company. I assume it's the latest version, as I started a few days ago. Thanks. PSfever.com
Hello Taoft, it depends really on what you want to do.. You're probably doing the best thing I've reinstalled PS many times when I was begging, it was the best learning process for me. I'd start with the backoffice, upload all the modules, delete unnecessary ones, create carriers, create payment methods etc.. Once you got that, You can import data (if you can) or type them in manually. If that's done, now it's time to decide how you want your shop to look like. Buy a theme, or let someone create you your own personal one. Now comes the best part. Testing and debugging your shop. Once a REALLY STUP customer is able to make a purchase, you're on a good way. Taoft
If I just install it again from the control panel, will it overwrite everything as if it were the first installation?
vekia
well if you use some pre installers like softaculous - i've got bad information - you shouldn't use it. why? i've noticed that many users have got a lof of troubles with pre-installers installations... believe me, its better to install prestashop manually
