how to upload sitelock vertification to root directory?

I don't know how to upload or insert the sitelock verification to my root directory? Please help:

 

Here is the step sitelock ask me to do:

Step 1

This step requires you to modify your site in an unobtrusive and temporary manner. This can be done in one of two ways:

1. Click here to download a verification file that you must then upload to your website's root directory (e.g., public_html, or www_root); OR

2. Insert the following meta tag in your homepage's source file:

<meta name="sitelock-site-verification" content="8040" />

open the header.tpl file located in your theme directory (themes/YOUR_THEME/header.tpl)

put the suggested code:

<meta name="sitelock-site-verification" content="8040" />

right after the last <meta> tag there
