Nihi
Hello Prestashop Community Allright, i have some sort of a logical question concerning the Weight (package) option under Catalog -> Products -> Shipping. Is it not completely wrong to write the actual weight of the package in there? I mean, if somebody orders 3 products where one product withoutht the package weights 1kg he has to pay for 3kg. But, if i add the weight of the actual wrapping material, lets say 200g to the product, he pays it 3 times, so he pays for 3.6kg. Of course in this particular case it wouldnt matter with most carriers, but what if he falls into a bigger price class just because he has to pay the packaging material 3 times instead of just once? Where is my thinking mistake, if there is one? Thanks for your answers. Greetings Nihi Edited July 7, 2013 by Nihi (see edit history)

Greetings Nihi Adding the weight of the wrapping material to each product will add to the total weight times the number of products in the cart.Your way of thinking is not wrong on that point. Unfortunately there is no way (unless build into a modification) to take the wrapping weight into account separately.
Nihi
Ok, thanks for your reply. Well I can live with the fact that a customer probably has to pay more just because the wrapping material is calculated more than once. An improvement in the software would be nice, but thats not the place to talk about prestashop improvements, so for me this is solved.
