I sell embroidery designs. The files are zipped. I have Paypal cart on my website and would like to offer a free design every now and then but don't know how to do this. Would like to have the picture, then customers can click on picture and will automatically download. What do I need or if I can't do that how can I have a zero balance in cart and have it download. The picture is of a design I did for a g-tube pad that I give away for all those who have to use a feeding tube.

vekia, I helped this member privately, so I would consider this topic solved.

 

For clarification, the design was uploaded into Products, then an attachment added to it. One cannot click on the picture, though.

You could just add a new product, (value 0.00$, with as product image the free design sample)) and make a direct link to the design file in the "product description":

In the product description, you can add a sample picture, and if you add a link to the picture that links to the downloadable file, you make it 'clickable'.

The customer can just click on the picture/link and download begins.

 

Or make a new CMS page named 'Freebies' and add a sample picture with some text here and add a link to the picture that downloads your file to make it clickable.

 

Design Files can be uploaded by FTP to a 'public' folder or so.
