can´t see uploaded modules in backoffice

When I upload a new module in my backoffice I see it in my root directory: modules but it doesn´t show up in back office.

I have prestashop version 1.4.6.2 and want to update to the latest prestashop version using 1-click upgrade, but can´t start 1-click upgrade because it´s to old, and I can´t download a newer version because it doesn´t show up in backoffice when i upload it..

I see it in my root directory...but nothing in my back office

I deletad the older version of 1 click upgrade but now i cant get the new one to show in back office

Whats wrong?

I´m using a macbook air..

you can manage other modules? what kind of module you're trying to install? maybe the library is corrupted
