Property Category->link_rewrite is empty

Recommended Posts

Hi

I upgrade to 1.5.4.1 from 1.5.3 as I had some database inconsistencies and decided that my other clients 1.5.4.1 was stable enough for me to go there myself. I used the 1-click upgrade and my CSV files no longer import. I have tried a lot of things, even removing the website and starting from a clean install; no modifications or themes. I am confident no aspect of my CSV file has changed. I cannot import Categories and I get this:

  • Storage (ID: null) cannot be saved
  • Property Category->link_rewrite is empty
  • Hard Drives (ID: 1046) cannot be saved

When I try to import CSV, one error for each line. I worked the file back to only one line and still get an error. Please can a seasoned expert have a look at this one line and tell me what is wrong that the imports no longer work or what has changed - I have full control over the CSV file, so I can change it (I do ignore the first line and I tried with no first line, here is the raw file:

ID;Active;Name*;Parent Category;Root Category;Description;Meta-title;Meta-keywords;Meta-description;URL rewritten;Image URL

1046;1;Hard Drives;Storage;0;storage hard drives usb hard drives;hard drives;usb,hard,drives,storage;usb hard drives hard drives storage;hard-drives;http://ispro.co.nz/images/custom/usb-hard-drives-300x300.jpg

Many thanks for a great product!

Hi

I'm becoming very frustrated by the apparent lack of communication from Prestashop towards this very common error which has clearly, by common research and opinion, arisen out of an upgrade. As a paying customer, I expect that problems I report will at least receive some level of acknowledgement in the same way that I expect patches and upgrades will be thoroughtly tested and documented.

If the Prestashop motto is "good luck using our software" than I expect to see that very clearly on the acceptance of terms and conditions each time I or one of my many clients hands over cash to your operation.

It seems this error is reported in many places with no response or any kind of visible reaction.

Is there even somebody from Prestashop who monitors these forums? Is there any expected level of support or service for paying customers? - There is no evidence to support these questions.

One of our online stores is now down for almost the month of June and we are already into July and there is no response or apparent support at all. At this rate, I can only think we will move to another product and strongly recommend other customers or potential customers give weight to their strategic direction based on our experience.

Can somebody in Prestashop please consider giving this error some attention?

If we knew that there would be so little support, we could have migrated out to another product by now.

Your prompt attention is appreciated.

Hi

We are going to build our new site with this version. Hwoever there are a couple of issues (one of which I've reported as a bug on the forge) with importing. Attached file does work with 1.5.4.1, so have a look at this and see if your file matches.

Can you not restore from backup the site currently down?

Cheers

David

Hi

There is an issue with the categories import, in that if a category/sub-category exists on the db it will import ok. If however, there are new categories on the file, an error occurs and they are not imported into the db. I have opened a bug request for this, as we would like to import new categories/sub-categories.

The bug report is located here:

http://forge.prestas...owse/PSCFV-9675

There is also a category import file attached to this, which you can look at.

Cheers
