Hi, I'm using prestashop 1.5.3.1, this is my website: www.tiempoerotico.com

My website takes alot of time to load, I don't know why. I'm starting to think it's prestashop because first, I have all perfomance options on (Those who help loading speed.), and I also use cdn, cloudflare. Yet the shop loads the pages at a slow speed that it hurts. I don't think the problem is my hosting provider since I have other domains and they load fast.

Should I switch ecommerce platform? Like magento? or Is it my website?

Thanks in advance!

Prestashop is not inherently slow, it does take more resources to run than say a wordpress site. But on the same token it takes less resources to run than a magento site.

What kind of hosting are you using? How many products do you have in your shop?

Hi Dh42, I'm using the web hosting baby package plan from Hostgator, I only got 40 products, but in a few weeks I will have to add more.

I would suggest that a better hosting package is in order. You might look into a small vps plan. Currently there are at least 174 websites hosted on the same machine as you, but I would guess the number is far greater than that. They take away from the resources your site can use making things slower.

Really? 174?? I knew it was a shared hosting..like with a few websites..but 174? How did you know that? Oh, and I'm planning on buying the VPS lvl 3 plan on hostgator, I actually thought of doing it before but wasen't sure.

Just wondering, if this is a good VPS plan.

CPU : 0.57 GHZ

Ram: 384 MB

Disk space: 10 gb

Bandwith: 250 gb

That is the level 1 plan..they told me to purchase atleast the lvl 3 because this lvl 1 is not fast enought..but I'm not sure if they are just telling me that so I can pay more money...you know, MARKETING

oh, here are the plans http://www.hostgator.com/vps-hosting/

I ran your domain through this site, http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/ but every cpanel account can have a dedicated ip address, so there are likely more on there than that pulls up.

I think a level 3 would be more apt for the site, For the same price here, http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/vps-hosting.php you get twice the ram and twice the cpu power. That is where I host all of the sites I manage and recommend for my clients to host.

Oh my god...175 domains on the same web server? Now it all makes sense..seriously 175? This must be a very profitable business then.

Thanks for all the information and I will which VPS plan I would buy, I'm considering on the website you provided. Thanks and good night!

You have right i worked only with VPS but minimum is to load time under 3sec 2Ghz procesor 1Gb ram half take mysql rest for another services and disk space hmm 10 Gb operating system binlogs for base with all other is to small in my opinion

the smallest machine in my use is 2,7 Ghz procesor 384 Mb ram and this take always some swap and 30 Gb Hdd for 10$

CPU : 0.57 GHZ
Ram: 384 MB

in my opinion is not enough,

search something with at least 512mb (with burst mode ~1gb)

Is this one okay?

CPU: 1.13 GHZ

RAM: 768

DISK SPACE: 30 GB

BANDWIDTH: 500 GB

I also send a ticket to hostgator regarding about the VPS plan, but they told me this:

Please note however that a VPS is a small partition of a much larger server, while you are not using shared resources, your resource pool is much smaller. A level 3 VPS will likely not increase the speed of your sites, but will give you a greater amount of flexibility to customize the software on those sites so you can optimize it in other ways.

So it won't increase my loading speed? I mean, atleast the server is not running with 175 other websites which I was also told this affected my SEO.

So...? A VPS plan would make my website faster? I mean 3 sec is not that bad..sometimes my websites takes 15 or 20 secs to load, but it happens randomly, sometimes it takes 1 to 5 secs to load.

What do you think about this?

CPU: 1.13 GHZ

RAM: 768

DISK SPACE: 30 GB

BANDWIDTH: 500 GB

Have you installed a third party module?

I had problems on the past with modules that slow the site needlessly.

I have third party modules but they came with the template, also a module call COD+ cash on delivery plus

If You have randomly You have 3 ways

1. Not stable sources for yur VPS

2. Apache Whats your config ?? main i think about which MPM are You set and how is configurate

3. Mysql have bad settings

I was considering the vps from the website you told me, but I think I found one with even bigger power and same price.

The cloudvps from http://www.hostv.com/

The lvl 1 offers:

CPU cores: 1 x 2.5 Ghz

Ram: 1.5 GB

Disk Space: 20 GB

Bandwidth: 1000 GB

Dedi IPS: 2

Price: 30 dolars

Looks better than the one in hostgator too!
