Dolke
Hi, I have some products that quantity is 2,7 or 45,6 so its not integer. How to change type of the quantity field in order Prestashop accept these values? Can this change affect something else?
Kogkalidis
If this is something like kilograms 2.7 kilograms, you can put it like 2700 (grams) and refer to the product description that the weight is grams and not kilos for modifications I am not the best. ask vekia for that
Dolke
Thank you for taking interest in my case here. Yes, that does sound like a solution, although kilograms are much more "friendly" when it comes to the products that I'm selling. If changing the type of the quantity filed from INT to DECIMAL for example in the ps_products wont affect anything else I would go for that solution. Mr Vekia, what do you say? Kogkalidis
What is it about? Is it something that you sell per weight (eg sugar) or something that its weight is not accurate? You understand what I mean?
Dolke
I do. For example freon gas which is sold in the bottles of 13.8kg 12.6 kg etc... Or some rubbers that are sold in metars, like 6.5m and so on I just cant use cm, mm or grams as it not ""natural" in these situations.
Kogkalidis
So your weight is stable, just not exact! So you don't need this modification.. Just refer to the features or the short description that the product weighs 105.9 grams for example and allow your clients to buy bottles, pieces etc Regards
Dolke
Hm thats true, I could do that but problem is that I need this value to be in the proper field and not in the short description. I need that because Im making my CSV files automatically exporting some data from the software we are using in our company for every day tasks. So I need values of the quantity to be decimal in the quantity field and no other.
El Patron
you may not have already done so but you can set the shop measurement values under back office-->localization http://screencast.com/t/eD3UgbDq You could then set up combinations by product say for example different sizes of bottles. Note: attributes supports a fixed (you define) value for a product, it's doesn't support say the customer wanting x cm of a particular product. Edited June 27, 2013 by El Patron change attributes to combinations (see edit history)
