Dh42
Bill, you should check spriteme out. It takes a little work to get used to it, but it is pretty awesome. Turn off ccc on your site and load the bookmarklet. It will make the sprite image for you and show you what css selectors to change and even writes the css for you. You just have to paste it in. A word to the wise on using it, the image files it makes are somewhat bloated, so I would send the sprite through kraken.io or smushit before uploading. I also open the main 5 pages of a site in different tabs as well, (home page, product page, category page, cms page, and checkout page) and refresh each one after I upload a changed line. It makes it where you can trace out problems and undo them. So at the end you are not wondering why an image looks messed up and trying to figure out which change did it. About the color swatches, are they solid colors or patterns? See my view on the sprites is really this, I have thought about making the changes and doing a pull request on all the files to see if they get included. But it totally erases them if you use another theme. Although, I know a lot of theme designers use the default theme as a base for their custom themes, so maybe they would incorporate it. Oh, I know I have seen it before, do you have a link to your site, you can pm it to me if you want. I want to see how many requests it does make.
