Shipping Cost Based On Pickup Location

Running 1.5.4.1

 

Spent countless hours researching this with no luck.

 

It seems that even in 1.5 the UPS module's costs are overall based on the delivery address.

I'm trying to modify the shipping cost ALSO based on the pickup address, e.g.

 

Shipping from Oregon to Florida has 1 price

Shipping from Georgia to Florida has a very different price.

 

I tried creating different manufacturer and respective addresses but no luck.

 

I set up the originating zip code in the setup page for the UPS module so, I guess, all the rates are based on the assumption that everything originates from that zip code.

 

Any idea would be MUCH appreciated.

The rates do assume that everything originates from that zip code inputted in the UPS module configuration.

 

How have you defined the pickup address? You mean different warehouses may need to ship from different places?

Benjamin, firt of all thank you for responding.

 

Many presta shops use drop ship, which means they sell products from different warehouses.

The customer may be in Florida but , e.g., an ipod may ship from Oregon but an Iphone may ship from Georgia.

These are very different shipping costs, particularly for large items.

If a merchant can't offer a competitve shipping rate ( instead of an average ) he/she will not be competitive.

 

I have defined the zip in the UPS module but I'm not sure what you mean by Pickup address. Can we specify different pickup addresses?

What do people usually do with a Presta shop when they ship from different locations?
