Fordie
Hello I have a prestashop site, i havent used it in a little while due to other commitments but i decided i will log into it and use the site now. I got to my admin screen and entered my email address and original password with no luck. So i did the Fortgotten password option, entered my email address and have not received any email with how to log in. Is there any way i can get access to the site via Prestashop on here? by doing a ticket or something similar as i want access asap. thanks in advance
benjamin utterback
Hi, make sure you check your Spam folder as well. What version of PrestaShop are you using?

benjamin utterback
Hi Fordie, we actually do not keep anybody's username or password of their store for security and privacy. If the E-mail is not sending out then it's possible it is being sent to another E-mail. The only way would be to reset the password by finding that Reset Password email, or by changing it in the database. If you are comfortable going into the database, I could show you a link that will help.

benjamin utterback
Hello, you would need to go to your Cpanel. I would contact your hosting provider for this information. Once you are in your cpanel, you can go to your database and phpmyadmin
Fordie
also do you have a best/easiest way to update to a newer version of prestashop?
benjamin utterback
Well, depending on the version you have, and how much work you've put into it. It may be a good idea to install the newest version from scratch. The best way to perform any upgrade is to test the upgrade on a localhost first. Never ever upgrade a live store until you know what you are getting into based on the results from the localhost test upgrade.
