andyclam
I just installed 1.5.4.1. When I update a carrier, the carrier ID always increases. I did not create a new one. Looking at the database (ps_carrier), I noticed the record with the previous ID was flagged as deleted. Is this an expected behaviour. I have a weight range of several hundred increaments, is there an easy way of 'importing' into Prestashop rather than going thru the browser ?
Bill Dalton
Andy, I just updated a carrier in PS 1.5.4.1 and it did increment the carrier ID. PS does not provide a method to import weight range. You may take a look in your database, table ps_range_wieght. Looks like it may be possible to do manually as long as you add the ID carrier. andyclam
It does not make sense to assign a new carrier ID on update. I have built a utility to do mass shipping cost addition, but having a moving carrier id requires the tool to get the carrier id dynamically from the database. Carrire ID should not change once created.
Bill Dalton
As I understand it, this is done so that changes you make will not affect past orders. Changes you make to your carrier will only apply to new orders after the edit.
andyclam
Following the same idea, then shouldn't other entities, e.g. product, do the same thing ? Assign a new product ID on update? Shouldn't shipping info be kept with the past orders. As far as I can see, carrier is the only one that does this (assign a new ID)

csboucher
Using PS 1.5.4.1 Canada Post Rates Calculator Version 1.1 It seems that whatever I do, I always get "No carriers available for the address" After a uninstall ad new install of the CP module, I noticed that the carrier IDs are not the same on the Shipping Carriers vs the 2 other pages Shipping Price Ranges and Shipping Weight RangesCould it be the reason why no carrier is found?
