Installed and loving Prestashop, a few questions though

I came across PrestaShop after a terrible experience with Magento and I am loving this product but of course have a few questions. I have not been able to troubleshoot these issues using google search, the wiki or these forums so far. Any help would be appreciated!

1. It there any way to hide or rename my prestashop directly name in the URL? Right now my site shows www.mysite.com/prestashop/... I need to remove "prestashop" from the url. Friendly URLs is enabled but this part still shows. Any ideas on how to do this without reinstalling? Note: I am using 1&1;as a host.

2. How easy is it to add javascript and jquery into a theme? Any caveats? For example I want a jquery slider for the homepage with photos of featured specials and things. Where is the best place to insert the scripts? (didnt see anything about this in the theme wiki guide) I can probably find this on my own just thought I just like being prepared.

3. I like the featured items section on the default them, unfortunately best I can tell you have to recreate the items in the featured catagory. Is there no way to just flag an existing item in your catalog as "featured" or not?

4. How can I disable the use of only capital letters on last names for user accounts? example: "john DOE"? Is this set by the CSS or is it in some other part of the site code?
