Check if a customer is logged in

Hi there!

 

I want to develop an online store using PrestaShop.

My situation is as follows: I have all the HTMLs with all the designs but they are not doing anything, since there is no logic behind them. So, I want to use PrestaShop to use it as my main "database" using the RESTful web services that PrestaShop provides.

 

Because of that, I will transform all my HTMLs to PHPs and then consume the REST-WS.

 

So, my question here is: how can I check (PHP code) if a customer is logged in and how can I do a form letting anyone to authenticate?

 

I want this, because I want to have private sections in my online store and not being public, because there will be some web services not public.
