aseques
Hello, I'd be interested configuring a domain that landed to a specific category on our site, the issue is this: We sell a variety of products in shop.example.com, one of the categories is raspberry pi (a little pc) We would like that when anyone goes to a domain we bought (exampleraspberry.com) lands into the category raspberry pi, but still can move to the other products. Is that possible without enabling the multiple shop backend?
PascalVG
Sure, just go to cPanel (or similar) and open 'redirects' app (you can find this app in 'domains' group in cPanel) and add a redirect for www.exampleraspberry.com to your shop.example.com/raspberry_pi page. add wildcards if you want any URL that has www.exampleraspberry.com/anypagehere go to this same page More info here: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/ReDirects My 2 cents, pascal
aseques
Thanks for answering Pascal, but my the question was a bit different, I was thinking about mantaining the www.exampleraspberry.com domain with the same products as the main shop, but with a different theme. But after thinking more about it, it wasn't the best choice because I'd have to mantain two brands ...
PascalVG
Hi aseques, No problem. Didn't read about a different theme in your original post, so came up with my first solution. As you seem to have second thoughts your question, shall we close this post for now? Good luck with your shop, pascal
